So, what is a Doula?
A doula is the professional who accompanies the pregnant woman during the period of pregnancy, childbirth and postpartum. It establishes a relationship of trust and complicity with customers, offering comfort and emotional support. She helps with exercises, placements, and massage techniques for pain relief during childbirth. She is also careful to prevent hospital procedures that the mother does not want to be performed.
It is an increasingly expanding work. Nowadays, in addition to the birthing doula, we also have a postpartum doula and an adoption doula. Below is a brief description of each type of Doula.
